The government passes a bill amending integrity and anti-corruption
The Council of Ministers held a session chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razaz, discussed and stipulated a set of issues and decisions, and approved, among them, a draft law prepared for integrity and anti-corruption for the year 2020 AD, as a prelude to referring it to the House of Representatives for approval according to constitutional principles.
The amendments approved by the Council of Ministers today on the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Law give the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission more financial and administrative autonomy, which gives it the performance of its duties, and enhances its capabilities to pursue corruption-related cases; This is in light of the nature and seriousness of the issues you deal with
Or approval of the judicial judicial committee formed under the conditions of that law, which contributes directly and tangibly to activating the recovery of funds and assets arising from acts of corruption.
The new amendments also give the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission the right to conduct investigations related to money-laundering crimes that involve corruption cases. Reconciliation with the perpetrators of these crimes will take place if they return the money they obtained
The new amendments monitor the abnormal growth of wealth for subject persons and this law is done.
Also, these procedures are considered the criminal acts mentioned in Article (59) of the Parliamentary Election Law No. (6) for the year 2016 AD, acts of corruption, which are (crimes related to political or black money, and acts of buying receivables).
Commenting on the procedures for spreading false information, defaming persons, and exploiting influence in corruption crimes, which is intended to exploit influence here: enabling a person or trying to enable him to obtain public administration on a job, service, supply agreement, bid, contract, decision, or any other undeserved advantage .
These measures confirm that the government has a real will to fight corruption, develop tools for legal prosecution of corruption crimes and its actions, strive for public funds, eliminate corruption in its various forms, and Jordan’s reputation regionally and internationally in this field.
